Holly Benson (She, Her)

Holly Benson has been a Mountaineer for quite some time. Holly started at Appalachian in 2016 as an undergraduate student studying Sociology. She quickly became involved on campus in various different areas such as Emerging Leaders, Leadership Educators, Omicron Delta Kappa, and the Appalachian Leadership Forum! Holly has always found joy in working with students and helping them succeed. In 2020, Holly started her graduate studies in the Student Affairs Administration program, while in her program she served as a Student Employee Supervisor in the Plemmons Student Union, a Graduate Assistant in the Office of Student Success, and an Academic Advisor for the Psychology Department. She graduated with a Master of Arts degree in May 2022.

Since starting with As-U-R in June, she has found her happy place on campus and has created an incredible bond with her co-workers, student mentors, and As-U-R Students. Holly works 1:1 with students and in small groups, helping develop different skills to promote success at Appalachian. She looks forward to working with more students and growing within the As-U-R and Appalachian community.

In her free time, Holly enjoys attending Farmer’s Markets, reading, and spending time with her partner, Patrick, their daughter, Gianna, and furbabies Luna and Nala.
