As an undergraduate student, Ellen had the opportunity to mentor an As-U-R student through a course offered in the Reich College of Education. After the course, Ellen fell in love with working with students who have learning differences in post-secondary education. She was hired as an undergraduate mentor and worked with students in the As-U-R program throughout the remainder of her undergraduate program. Ellen continued working at As-U-R as a graduate assistant during her time as a graduate student.
Ellen is extremely passionate about helping neurodiverse students access the academic learning environment, have positive academic experiences, and develop academic independence and self-advocacy skills. When she isn’t working with students, you can find Ellen spending time with family, friends, and her hedgehog Tulip or exploring the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains.
