Student Learning Center

Whitney Ward joined the Student Learning Center as the Administrative Support Specialist in August 2019.  Previously at Appalachian, she worked as a Student Services Coordinator in Multicultural Student Development, an Administrative Support Associate in Educational Outreach and Summer Programs, and as a Verification Process Assistant in Financial Aid.  Prior to working at Appalachian State, Whitney was employed in the Catawba County Tax Revaluation Department.

In addition to working at Appalachian State, Whitney is also a graduate of the University. In 2014, she earned her Bachelor’s in English with a Concentration in Film Studies and a Minor in Psychology.  During this time, Whitney was also a student employee in the Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures.  She is a native of Ashe County and was a proud member of her High School’s Marching, Symphonic, and Steel Drum Bands.  She currently resides in Boone.  Whitney enjoys reading, music, and is a lover of all things pop culture.
